History
The idea for Opportunity Through Baseball, Inc., “OTB”, came
from a high school AP English paper
founder/executive director Amy Webb wrote in
2003 on the impact of baseball on the Dominican Republic.
After learning of the severe poverty and
economic state of the small
Caribbean country in which baseball
is a part of most of its citizens’ daily lives,
Webb decided to help out in her own way.
She did so by establishing an
organization which would provide baseball
equipment to kids not only in the D.R. who do
not have such resources available to them, but
to children all over the world.
After incorporating and obtaining
501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, Webb and OTB are
now reaching out to the public for assistance!
